Mission

Mission
The Georgetown University Astronomical Society (GUAS) meets weekly in the Heyden Observatory (founded in the 1841) on campus. GUAS educates the Georgetown community on matters of astronomy and the night sky and brings in speakers working in space-related industries on the scientific side (i.e. professors and NASA researchers), policy side (i.e. Office of Commercial Space Transportation), and commercial side (i.e. SpaceX). GUAS has an extensive alumni network, and is open-membership.
