Before we dive into our newsletter...

The Georgetown University Cybersecurity Society would like to share an opportunity from the Georgetown AI Association (GAIA) that may be of interest to members interested in AI policy, governance, and cyber risk.

GAIA is currently accepting applications for its Spring 2026 AI Policy Fellowship, an 8-week, application-based program open to both undergraduate and graduate students. The fellowship explores topics such as AI-enabled cybersecurity risks, disinformation, AI governance, and policy responses to emerging technologies.

In addition to the fellowship, GAIA hosts speaker events, career advising, and networking opportunities with professionals across government, policy, and research.

Application deadline: Sunday, February 15

If you’re interested in the intersection of cybersecurity, AI, and policy, this could be a great opportunity.

The Georgetown University Cybersecurity Society would also like to share an opportunity from the Georgetown International Relations Club. On Thursday, February 19, their club will be hosting a coffee chat with SFS Professor Michael Sulmeyer to discuss cybersecurity and foreign policy.

Please take advantage of these opportunities!

GUCS's latest AI Packet Analysis lab with industry professional Betty DuBois went even more smoothly than expected! Although the snow made travel difficult, we powered through and learned how to analyze packets using fully web-based AI tools. Everyone left with new tools and faster workflows for CTFs, forensics, and network debugging — plus Betty’s self-study resource hub to keep learning on their own. Check it out here: https://start.me/p/GLRXYa/ai4pa

Thank you for supporting GUCS, Ms. DuBois! 👾

GUCS 2026 Cybersecurity Conference -
We Want Your Input!
GUCS LOGO

The Georgetown University Cybersecurity Society is planning a cybersecurity conference in late March featuring speakers from government, private sector, and academia. This event is designed to spark interest in different areas of cybersecurity, help students explore potential career paths, and build meaningful professional connections.

To make this conference as valuable as possible, we’d love your input:
    •    What questions would you like to ask cybersecurity professionals?
    •    What topics or skills do you want our panels to cover? (AI security, policy, threat intelligence, certifications, internships, breaking into the field, etc.)
    •    What career insights or networking advice are you hoping to gain?
    •    Are there specific roles, industries, or specialties you want represented?
    •    Do you have any speakers you’d like us to invite or recommend?

Your feedback will directly shape the panels and help us create a conference that truly reflects student interests and goals.
