Join the Georgetown University Cybersecurity Society for a hands-on Linux command line lab led by Andrey Shakhzadyan. Linux is everywhere in cybersecurity — from servers and cloud infrastructure to security tools and incident response environments. This interactive session is designed to build confidence in the terminal and strengthen the practical skills every cyber professional should know.

Important: Students must create a free GitHub account before attending, as the lab environment will run through GitHub Codespaces.

What to Expect:
Quick overview of Linux in cybersecurity
Live demos of essential commands and workflows
Structured hands-on exercises
Intro to basic bash scripting
Open Q&A and key takeaways

This session is beginner-friendly but also valuable for intermediate students who want a refresher or stronger command-line fluency. Whether you’re preparing for technical interviews, security roles, or simply want to become more comfortable working in a terminal, this lab will give you practical, immediately usable skills.
