We, the Abolition Advocacy Project (AAP), are law students advocating, empowering local
movements, and educating fellow law students at Georgetown University Law Center to abolish
systemic injustices on which Washington, D.C., and United States legal institutions are built and
perpetuate.
We aim to challenge the status quo, integrate abolitionist aims into our legal education, and
engage with the broader DMV community through coalition building, collaboration, and
grassroots organizing. Our values of anti-racism, justice, and equity guide us. We strive to create
an inclusive and just society where the law makes us all safe and free, regardless of race, gender,
ability, education level, nationality, religion, sexuality, incarceration, socioeconomic or
immigration status, or any other identity marker.

The purposes of the ACLU of GULC are:

1. To advance discussion of civil liberties on campus.
2. To advocate respect thereof at all levels of government.
3. To support the local chapters of the ACLU however possible.

We defend and promote the protections encompassed in the Bill of Rights of the Federal Constitution, as well as all other rights that protect inhabitants of this country from unnecessarily unjust or invasive government action.

These purposes shall be achieved by sponsoring speakers and debates on timely subjects, and keeping the campus community apprised of government actions that implicate our civil liberties.

Mission
For more than seventy years, the Barristers' Council has been providing students at Georgetown University Law Center with opportunities to hone their advocacy skills. Students who are interested in joining the Council do so through the Appellate Advocacy, Trial Advocacy, and ADR Advocacy divisions, which sponsor a number of intrascholastic competitions every year. Students chosen to join Barristers' Council begin intensive training to represent Georgetown Law at national and international advocacy competitions.

Beyond A Reasonable Stout (BARS) is the only craft beer tasting club at Georgetown Law University Center (GULC). We have historically hosted approximately six free tastings and co-hosted a variety of other events with various student organizations over the course of the year to students of all years, including evening students and LLMs.

Our mission is to provide the following:

(1) A welcoming and informative space. At BARS events, attendees can familiarize themselves with a selection of craft, local, and independent beers. We provide tasting notes and resources to students so that they may be able to develop a sophisticated and worldly palate. Craft beer has increasingly become a part of the young professional culture, and we believe some degree of knowledge and sophistication is personally and professionally beneficial.

(2) A relaxed setting. BARS events provide attendees with the opportunity to meet students outside of the classroom, including evening students and LLMs (every semester we have a substantial minority of LLM attendance at our tastings). We are dedicated to making sure that Georgetown Law students maintain a healthy mental wellbeing by socializing with the greater GULC community. Bringing together diverse students is essential to (a) establishing strong interpersonal connections, (b) allowing 1Ls to seek advice and mentorship from upperclassmen in an informal and stress-free environment, and (c) building a stronger Georgetown Law community.

(3) A safe environment. We are committed to making sure that all attending students (a) are, and feel at all times, safe and within the confines of a familiar on-campus location benefiting from the protective services of the school, (b) are given alcohol in a controlled and responsible environment, and (c) have access to an active community upon which they can rely to ensure and support their safety and wellbeing. We know that students will face extensive exposure to alcohol throughout their studies and careers, and believe fostering a healthy relationship with alcohol, and a peer support system, is a positive step in preventing substance abuse problems.

The purposes of BLSA shall be the following:

5. To promote a greater representation of Black law students in all pertinent spheres of activity within Georgetown University Law Center including, but not limited to, the Student Bar Association, Standing Committees, Clinical Programs, Law Review, Law Journals, and Barristers' Council;
6. To use our position as Black law students at Georgetown University Law Center to increase the recruitment and retention of Black law students at our institution;
7. To encourage and increase the recruitment and retention of adjunct, tenure-track and tenured Black professors at Georgetown University Law Center.
8. To influence the Georgetown University Law Center to use its legal expertise and prestige to effectively bring about changes within the legal system responsive to needs of the Black community;
9. To focus on the relationship of the Black attorney to the American legal structure; to instill a greater awareness in Black attorneys and law students of the needs of the Black Community and to encourage a greater commitment towards meeting those needs;
10. To use our legal training to focus on the social, economic, political, and legal issues in the Black community; and
11. To do anything necessary and proper to accomplish the aforementioned purposes.

CLS exists to provide opportunities for students to fellowship with one another through prayer and worship, dedicate time to understanding the role of Christian law students in serving and advocating for the most vulnerable members of society (e.g., racial minorities, low-income communities, families affected by COVID-19, etc.), and address significant cultural and political issues through biblical study. To fulfill our mission, we want (1) to partner with churches and community organizations in the DC-MD-VA to provide food and resources for families and individuals in need; (2) to host weekly Bible studies centered around justice and putting faith in action; and (3) to invite Christian leaders and attorneys to engage with us around issues of the law, politics, and culture.

We plan to share programming, educational resources, and opportunities to worship together in
