GWA Student Fellowship Program

Apply here by April 10th for the 2022-2023 Georgetown Women’s Alliance Student Fellowship! As a GWA Student Fellow, you will be a part of GWA meetings, meet leaders from across the University, help to strengthen GWA’s programming and presence on campus, and take on a project of your own design. Fellows are also matched with a mentor in a leadership role on our campus. This unpaid fellowship commitment is approximately 5-10 hours a month and positions are open to undergraduate and graduate students of any gender who are passionate about building community and contributing to gender equity work on campus. Please contact co-directors Kaela Jackson and Mary Catherine Curley with any questions.

Write for On the Record!

On the Record is the student-run political publication housed at the Georgetown Institute of Politics and Public Service. On the Record is currently accepting any opinion pieces related to U.S. Foreign policy, economic policy, cultural and politics, COVID-19, and upcoming elections. Georgetown Undergraduate Research Conference

The History department is hosting their first undergraduate research conference on Friday April 8th, 10am-1pm. The theme is "The Past and the Present: How does the past inform the present and how does the present inform reinterpretations of past history?" The conference is open to all undergraduates to showcase current or past research. Additionally, the conference welcomes any and all forms of visual representation, whether it be a PowerPoint or theatrical performance. The conference will be set up as two sessions with an intermission reception in between. Each session will consist of three 10 minute presentations grouped thematically followed by a moderated roundtable discussion and Q&A. Applications are due March 26th. Questions? Chaplains' Tea

Join chaplains and staff for Chaplains’ Tea on Tuesday afternoons (3-3:50pm) in the Dahlgren Quad Tent for respite and refreshment. Whether you’re dropping in between classes or staying for a while, we look forward to seeing you. All are invited to stay for our Interfaith Prayer for Peace and Justice immediately following Chaplains’ Tea (3:50-4pm).

Georgetown University's Social Innovation and Public Service Fund (SIPS) 10th Anniversary Event

SIPS, founded in 2011, is Georgetown’s $1.5 million student-run fund focused on aiding current students’ and alumni’s social venture projects,  built on four pillars: Innovation, Sustainability, Impact on Community, and Impact on Student. In addition to positively impacting the community, SIPS has grown the Executive Committee (EC), evaluated how to best measure the impact of projects, and funded projects on Georgetown’s physical campus. We look forward to coming together to celebrate a fantastic and successful decade of SIPS, including all of your past projects and contributions! Senior Ball Closet

This year’s Senior Class Committee is establishing the Senior Ball Closet to combat the lack of accessibility to formal clothing, and we need your help! We are collecting formal wear of ALL sizes which includes dresses, tuxedo or suit pieces, and other aspects of formal wear. Although we are not collecting shoes, we are collecting accessories, such as ties, bow ties, coats, belts, as well. Please take your donations to the Center for Student Engagement addressed to the SCC. The request form will open Sunday, April 3rd. For any questions, please email ds1631@georgetown.edu. ESCAPE Team 32 Leader Applications

ESCAPE Leader Apps are due March 31st at 11:59pm. Any rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors are eligible to apply for the 2022-2023 ESCAPE leader position (and you don't have to have attended an ESCAPE retreat either)! This is a wonderful opportunity to help first-year students transition to Georgetown while also getting the chance to spend some quality time with a wonderful team of leaders! The Defiant Middle: How Women Navigate Life Between Expectations and Reality: A Conversation with Kaya Oakes

In The Defiant Middle, Kaya Oakes draws on the wisdom of women mystics and explores how transitional eras or living in marginalized identities can result in a reinvented way of seeing the world and changing it. Climate Innovation Ideathon 2022

Co-hosted by the Global Social Innovation Lab (GSIL) and Plan-It Earth, the Climate Innovation Ideathon on April 9-10th at Georgetown brings together students, experts, and practitioners. Teams will generate entrepreneurial solutions to critical environmental challenges for a chance to win a total of $10,000 in prize money to launch their ventures.
