Ianthe Metzger (C'12) is the Senior Director, Advocacy Communications for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, leading the team that develops effective messaging and media strategies on federal and state policy, litigation, and elections related to sexual and reproductive health care. Ianthe previously served as Communications Director for The Collective PAC and Deputy Director of Campaign Communications at EMILY’s List, working to elect Black, progressive candidates and pro-choice Democratic women respectively up and down the ballot. She also spent several years working on issues like marriage equality and LGBTQ-inclusive non-discrimination protections with the Human Rights Campaign and started her career doing media outreach for the AFL-CIO and its affiliate Working America. Ianthe has an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University with a certificate in Justice and Peace studies and a Master's in Strategic Public Relations from George Washington University. She currently sits on the board of Rising Organizers and New American Leaders (C4) and previously served on the board of Washington Women in Public Relations. Ianthe hails from Trindad and Tobago and currently lives in Washington D.C. with her husband, Adam.
