Subject: Making the most of Handshake

Handshake has A LOT of opportunities available for students...

... so many that it can often be overwhelming! There are currently over 4000 internships listed on the platform! The key to making Handshake work for you are filters and keywords.

In Handshake, you can narrow down your search to something that makes sense for you by using the filters that mean the most to you. Here is what looking for a virtual internship looks like:

If you know you are looking for a virtual internship this summer, use the keyword, “remote” or “virtual” to find internships that are available online.

If you are looking for an internship (As opposed to a full-time, post graduation job) click the “internship” button.

To narrow down further, click the “All Filters” button for more options, such as job role (think job title), industry (think type of company), or a specific employer.

We highly recommend using filters to isolate the opportunities that match your specific interests.

Want additional assistance in combing through your options?

Attend a drop-in appointment! Our drop-ins take place during a variety of times to accommodate a variety of timezones, including:

  • 9–10 a.m., Tuesday – Friday
