Details

Our first mainstage show of the year, The Importance of Being Earnest follows the story of two friends and the double lives they live not only to escape social obligation but to assist in the pursuit of their attractions. The confusion? They both use the same name: Ernest. This Trivial Comedy for Serious People looks at how playing into the performative nature of life, pursuing personal pleasures, and standing firm in your convictions can lead to entanglements that demonstrate how truly important it is to be (or not to be) earnest.

Director: Jack Markowitz (CAS '27)
Producer: Annie Howard (CAS '29)
Stage Manager: Katie Claes (SOH '29)
Technical Director: Maya Ortner (CAS '29)

We will also have standby tickets available at the door beginning 1 hour before the show. If you do not make it off the CampusGroups waitlist, you'll be able to join the in-person standby list beginning 1 hour before the performance by showing up to the Poulton Hall Lobby and giving your name to the House Manager.
