Mission
Together, Georgetown University's Office of Government Relations and Community Engagement (GRACE), Office of Student Employment, and Center for Social Justice announce a pilot program through which Federal Work Study (FWS)-eligible Georgetown University undergraduate students can intern with DC-based community organizations whose leaders have been recognized by the University's annual John Thompson, Jr. Legacy of a Dream Award.

When supporting a Legacy of a Dream (LoaD) Awardee Organization, LoaD Interns use their skills, time, energy, and capacities to support organization as needed and requested. While actual duties vary with each agency placement, the goal is for each Hoya to contribute to the agency's capacity with their contributions, support, and learning. LoaD interns are expected to be excellent representatives to Georgetown's commitment to social justice and follow all Student Conduct policies, both on and off campus. The Multicultural Graduations are part of the official Georgetown University commencement schedule and are a way to bring students of color together for a final ceremony before graduation. Upon attending, each student will be honored with a stole. There are three ceremonies:

Asian Heritage celebrates the achievements of our Asian American and Pacific Islander graduates and allies of the Georgetown University AAPI community. It aims to recognize the achievements of the graduates, and celebrate the cultures and legacies that shaped their journeys here at the Hilltop.

Harambee is an annual ceremony dedicated to recognizing graduating seniors who identify with communities of the African Diaspora. This ceremony collectively celebrates the individual achievements of students in obtaining college diplomas and honors the community and legacy Black graduating students have created and actively cultivated here at Georgetown.

Despedida is an annual ceremony dedicated to celebrating the cultural diversity and history of the Latinx community and Chicanas/Chicanos at Georgetown University. This unique celebration serves to recognize the completion of a rigorous journey through academia and involvement in various organizations at Georgetown.

Mission
The Community Scholars Program (CSP) has led Georgetown's efforts to promote social justice for 50 years by enrolling a more racially and socioeconomically diverse student body. Managed by the Center for Multicultural Equity & Access (CMEA), the program provides enhanced educational opportunities for a multicultural cohort of first-generation college students who have achieved the dream of higher education through personal initiative, service, and academic excellence.

The Community Scholars experience begins with a five-week academic summer program prior to the student's first year at Georgetown designed to aid their transition to higher education. During the summer they take classes for credit, attend orientation workshops, and begin forming bonds with one another, teachers, and administrators that will help sustain them through college. The program supports its students throughout their Georgetown careers with academic advising, mentoring and personal counseling, study groups, workshops, and seminars. With a 92% graduation rate, CSP provides a diverse support network with proven results.
